2016 Annual Maeoe conference

October 14-16

Kellogg biological Station Hickory corners, MI

It’s official!  The 2016 MAEOE Conference will be held at MSU’s Kellogg Biological Station!

Located on beautiful Gull Lake in Hickory Corners, Michigan, KBS is Michigan State University’s biological station.  It is the site of premier research from the micro to macroscale, including home to one of only 26 long term ecological research (LTER) sites in the world!  (For more about KBS’s exciting LTER research, check out https://www.lternet.edu/sites/kbs.) There is no better place in Michigan to be so near such cutting edge research and educational resources!

Not only is the KBS atmosphere ideal for learning and sharing knowledge, the KBS grounds and surrounding areas offer a multitude of exploration possibilities.  If you’ve been a fan of past MAEOE conferences, just wait till you see what’s in store this year!  From a dairy pasture and milking facility to experimental ponds and forests to a world-renowned bird sanctuary, the opportunities are endless.  The North Country Trail even runs through KBS property and a day trip to the dunes is an easy possibility!

This year’s theme is also very special.  Inspired from the Constitution of the Iroquois Nations, “Teaching for the Seventh Generation” reminds us that sustainability is a responsibility we all share.  The committee is working hard to make this year’s conference experience as great as you have come to expect.  Check the website for updates!

This year’s conference is one not to miss!  Mark your calendars now for October 14-16, 2016 and join us for networking, learning, and fun!

See you in October!
