2020 CONFERENCE
BEAVER ISLAND

Environmental Education
Meets Island Adventure
September 25-28, 2020
This fall MAEOE takes the fall conference on the road, and on the boat, to Lake Michigan’s largest island. The history, scenery, flora and fauna on Beaver Island create a unique destination conference. The most significant change from past conferences, due to ferry schedules, is a Friday – Monday schedule. The full conference is three nights and eight meals! Helpful information on schedule, transportation, lodging and fees are on other pages. Here are some dates and deadlines to keep in mind.

TRANSPORTATION
TRANSPORTATION
The 2020 conference schedule is being built around the main transportation schedule to and from the Island.
Ferry Ride : The 2020 Ferry price is $32.50 one-way for an adult passenger. A typical vehicle is $100 one way but not needed unless you wish to bring a car/van/suv to the island. For more information on the ferry schedule, go to www.bibco.com
Plane : You can also fly to the island in 15-20 minutes on one of two airlines. Both airlines rates are about $55 one-way to Beaver Island ($110 round trip) CMU shuttles will pick you and deliver you to the airfield. This is an incredibly beautiful flight, less than double the price and one/eighth the travel time.
Remember: You are responsible for your transportation to and from the conference. CMU will provide shuttle vans to and from boat docks and all field trips.
For full Transportation Information, check out the transportation guide.
