The following list displays an overview of the MAEOE committees and chairs.  Please contact the listed committee chair for more information about the committee or to join.

CONFERENCE

The Conference Committee is responsible for determining and solidifying the conference location and details.  The committee develops the conference budget, oversees publicity, solicits and selects presenters, and directs the planning and implementation of the conference.

EDUCATION

The Education Committee informs members of outdoor and environmental education opportunities, activities, and resources; manages and promotes the Environmental Educator Certification (EEC); solicits, reviews and evaluates two grant cycles per year; and oversees The Project WILD partnership.

ENVIRONMENTAL
EDUCATOR
CERTIFICATION

EEC Committee members are certified environmental educators who work together to mentor and evaluate EEC program participants; and to help present, promote, and update program initiatives.

MARKETING &
COMMUNICATIONS

The Marketing and Communications Committee communicates with the MAEOE membership and other youth educators effectively through MAEOE website, MAEOEgram, MAEOE listserv, and MAEOE social media accounts. The committee supports the sharing of resources, experiences, ideas, contacts and learning opportunities with professionals, peers and friends to enhance MAEOE’s efforts to promote quality environmental and outdoor education for Michigan’s youth.

FINANCE

The finance committee provides assistance to the Treasurer with MAEOE’s finances and fundraising.

The Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) Committee aims to increase diversity in membership and increase diversity in groups and communities that MAEOE serves and works with.
