MAEOE has a limited number of scholarships to assist students and educators in attending our Annual Conference every year. The application deadline to apply is July 15, 2024.

 

Scholarship winners will be notified by August 15th.

Scholarships include:

Full MAEOE Conference registration
1 ticket to MAEOE MASH
1 ticket to MAEOE Awards Banquet
1 yr. MAEOE Individual  membership

Scholarship recipients are responsible for covering:

Lodging costs
Meals
Any field trip fees  
Transportation to and from the conference location

All Scholarship recipients must commit to the following terms:

Stay for the full conference
Complete 2 - 3 hours of volunteer assistance*
Attend a scholarship meeting (before or during the conference)

 * Volunteer hours will be completed during normal conference hours and will not prohibit applicant from participating in workshops

Which scholarship is right for you?

Student

  • Must be a student currently enrolled in a Michigan college or university.

  • Must submit a letter of support from a professor or mentor with your application.

Preferred applicants will be enrolled in majors that reflect their interest in education, natural resources, recreation, or sciences. 

Professional

  • Must be a current classroom teacher

OR

  • Working or volunteering in a non-formal setting such as a nature center, zoo, museum, camp, etc.

  • Must include a letter of support from a colleague or MAEOE member with your application.​​

 

Preferred applicants will identify how they use educational materials in programs that focus on environmental and outdoor education, engage the  community, and partner with other organizations to enhance their classroom/venue programming.
 

Scholarships are limited to once per lifetime, regardless of scholarship type.
